Career Counseling

Career counseling to find a clear direction and take stepsAre you looking for new directions in your career?
Would you like to think more creatively about how to make a living?
Do you need help taking specific next steps?

If you feel uneasy about where your career is headed, you’re not alone. The top two biggest regrets that people experience across many life domains are education and career! We are more likely to regret our career and education choices than, say, our parenting choices or decisions we made about our romantic life.

This is where career counseling can help. It will help you figure out where you want to go with your education or professional life. It will help you get focused and plan specific next steps to into the right direction. By taking action, you can prevent regrets later in life.

In my approach to career counseling, we will assess your interests, values, strengths and skills, but also your potential and resources to acquire new skills. From there, we start exploring options and developing strategies to take your career into the right direction. Throughout the process, I will help you plan and realize immediate practical steps to get you moving on that track. Here is a more detailed description of what a career counseling process could involve if you decided to work with me , and here’s an update with resources for online coaching.

Where I Can Help You:

  • Leadership coaching
  • Educational and academic achievements

  • Job search strategies and skill building
  • Trouble-shooting and problem solving
  • Transitioning to retirement

What Past Clients Say About Career Counseling:

“What I like about Ursina’s career counseling style is that she managed to bring clarity into situations that felt overwhelming to me, and she helped me break down vague goals into specific next steps and manageable tasks. I also appreciated the fact that I always left her with immediate action plans and changes that were simple and realistic, but which had all the more impact on my daily life.”
Gustavo V., Systems Analyst

“I would highly recommend Ursina as a career counselor. Working with her really helped move me forward professionally. It helped me define my overarching goals and values, but then also get down to the knitty-gritty of taking concrete steps. For example, it helped immensely to be held accountable for progress between sessions, and to get specific support and guidance for things like doing informational interviews and making connections.”
Emily W., Project Manager
